Divorce

Although we've seen this coming, it still comes as a bit of a bomb-drop, but Francis told Carrie this morning that he wants out of the marriage and wants to sign over his parental rights to the boys. He said he doesn't want anything to do with them (and by signing over his rights after the divorce is final, he will not be required to pay child support). Obviously, Carrie right now is emotionally drained and we are taking turns staying with her to get her through these first few days. Part of me is relieved (after seeing all the other emotional strain he's put her through) and part of me is uncertain (I know Carrie will do her best as a single parent and we will be there for her, but it is going to be a looooong road). So, if I don't email or update for awhile, I apologize, but as you can see, my life just got a lot more complex! I wish everyone well and miss you all immensely!

Weight: Pleading the Fifth

Okay, so I got a little off-track this weekend with my diet, but you try taking care of 21-month-old twins while at the same time, reformatting a hard drive on a computer that is five years old (for all you non-techies out there...that is ANCIENT). I needed caffeine and the two best sources are coffee and chocolate...I don't drink coffee...'nuff said. Anywho, enough about my chocolate-induced guilt trip! My uncle is visiting from Boston and needless to say, after one hour of visiting, my cheeks hurt!!! He had me laughing soooo hard that I got stomach cramps!!! Crazy isn't it? My other uncle (who lives around the corner and is housing this maniac for the next week) was mouthing "save me" the whole time I was there. It was hysterical!!! I love my family to pieces and especially the way they can crack me up with little or no effort. Everyone has an odd "Uncle Joe" in their family. Me? I have TWO, but one's name is George (the other one ironically is Joe). Here's to family!

Weight: 183.0

If every person in the world decided to work on a problem they were having rather than complain about it...alot more things would get completed!!! I've opted to stop complaining and be more productive. In fact, after I finish this blog I'm going to research good jogging/walking sneakers because my old ones are killing me. So, rather than complain about them, I'm going to look for a solution to the problem...see how easy that was?! ;cD

Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend!!!

Weight: 183.0

Yeah, baby...I can see the 170's! LOL! Okay, had to syke myself up...sorry about that! At some point, I will make it to the gym. For now, walking two miles up and down hills is working just fine for me. If it starts getting too hot, then I'll venture indoors. This is when I honestly miss living in Eureka. Cool weather year-round and who wouldn't love hiking among the Redwoods??? I will say that I don't miss the earthquakes. While we only had a few while I was there...they freaked me out enough to appreciate the fact that at least you know when a hurricane is coming. In an earthquake, you get the warning when your car starts bouncing into the emergency lane (yes, it did and no, I'd rather not relive it). I made another video of the twins today to add to my YouTube page. It chronicles all the little clips I've taken of them since birth to now. I also finally broke down and bought my domain name and hosting server for the next two years. I haven't had time to add anything yet, but once I do, I will let you guys know where to find it if you're interested in my web design abilities. ;cD

That's all for tonight. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Forgiveness...life is too short to hold a grudge. All it does is eat you up and make you miss the more important moments of life. I, of all people, used to be very bad about holding grudges. I'm learning to let that go. I've discovered that the more I forgive, the happier I am. Are there things that are hard to forgive? Of course! Some things will leave scars regardless of whether or not I can move past them. But at least I can look at the person who did them and say I'm not going to waste any more of my time contemplating their actions. It was a bad experience, and I've moved on. Hopefully if anyone who's reading this is holding a grudge, they'll learn to let it go. Believe me, the feeling of freedom is overwhelming!

Weight: 184.5

Cholesterol: Went from 188 to 158 (WooHoo!!!)

This is going to be a short post. Found out today that one of my coworkers has Lymphoma. We are not sure yet if it is Hodgkins or Non-Hodgkins, but she should hear within the week. If you ran into her in the grocery store or on the street, she is the most cheerful, genuine, caring person you could ever meet. It's fitting that her name is Joy, because that is what she spreads. Regardless of the diagnosis, she has not lost her optimism and she is an inspiration to anyone who has been confronted with a speed bump in life. Here's to Life, here's to Love, here's to Joy!

Weight: 184.5

Gotta love when that water weight starts coming back off!!! Okay, so I decided to sleep a little later today...got up at 7:00 instead of 6:30 and am actually proud of the fact that I still managed to make it to work by 7:45! Right now I'm on my lunch break eating my self-created Chicken Caesar Salad (mmmm!!!) and listening to some old music I forgot was on my computer. Right now it's "El Tango De Roxanne" from Moulin Rouge. I've decided to seriously downsize my CD collection (I have about 60 gigs worth of mp3's anyway) and debating whether to just yard sale 'em or stick 'em on eBay. We'll see what my time looks like this week and that will probably determine the route I pick. Goals for the rest of the day:
  1. Walk the Ravines (if it's not raining)
  2. Sift through some of the Christmas boxes still in the living room (yes, I know it's April)
  3. Go see the boys (it's been two days!!!)
  4. Try to be in bed by 10:00 (notice, I said TRY)
Not real exciting stuff, but I figure that will come later! Hope everyone is well!

P.S. Check out the video below of the twins riding the Dumbo ride at Toys R' Us...they're such goofballs!
